Coming back to life

Mental health struggles exist, but no one seems to notice them at first until one day, suddenly, they enter in our lives and then we discover a new world. A world made of silent screams, fake smiles and tears not cried:
a world where appearances and true selves are always fighting trying to find a balance.
Where everything feels black and white, even if itโ€™s full of colours.
Whether these struggles affect us directly or indirectly, they trigger something in the deepest part of ourselves and leave us with an invisible scar.
Thatโ€™s exactly what happened to me when a truly important person in my life started to suffer from mental health problems, touching the lowest point and trying to climb back up. Itโ€™s not a quick recover or an on-off switch, itโ€™s a slow path made of up and downs, trusting yourself and others and choosing to never give up.
This series is dedicated to that important person and to all the people out there who are slowly coming back to life.
A special thanks to my model who had the difficult task of embodying such a delicate subject.
